Motion Designer/ Storyteller

Kia ora! I’m Mehmet but

you can call me Mems!

I’m a motion designer working across 3D and graphic design, with a focus on storytelling, identity, and culture. I use tools like Blender and Adobe Creative Suite to create work that’s visually sharp, emotionally honest, and driven by ideas.

I’m especially drawn to exploring culture in all its forms—language, music, art, film, everyday rituals—and how these shape who we are. I’m half Turkish and proud, and that part of me naturally finds its way into what I make, often sparking themes of duality, belonging, and memory.

Above all, I’m drawn to making work that speaks—sometimes quietly, sometimes with force. Whether through a flicker of movement or a bold visual rhythm, I aim to create pieces that linger, connect, and carry lasting meaning.

Four people stand in a line, smiling at the camera, inside a building. Behind them is a large potted plant and a wall with some text on it. The first person from the left is a woman with dark hair, wearing a blazer and light-colored pants. Next is a man with glasses, a beard, and a denim jacket. The third person is a man with a mustache and a cap, wearing a dark jacket and holding a drink. The fourth person is a man with a beard, wearing a windbreaker and holding a can, crossing his arms.

What makes me, me?

My work is grounded in values of honesty, cultural sensitivity, and social awareness. I aim to create visuals that feel genuine and emotionally resonant—work that doesn’t just look good, but means something. I care deeply about exploring culture in all its forms, whether through language, music, cinema, or everyday life, and bring a strong connection to my own identity as someone who is half Turkish. I’m driven by curiosity and a commitment to thoughtful craft.

I’m part of a creative community that spans independent animators, designers, artists, and storytellers who explore identity, culture, and justice through motion and visual media. This community values experimentation, lived experience, and slow, meaningful creation—often working at the intersection of art and activism. I connect most with those who use design as a tool to reveal, question, and connect, and who see storytelling not just as content, but as a way to shift perspective.
